Big Creek Timber Co., Inc. is a family owned and operated business. Randy Gill is the founder with 35 years of experience in the timber industry. He started out as a teenager cutting short wood on weekends and Summer break. He then worked for 12 years on logging crews learning all aspects of logging. Randy and his wife, Cindy, owned and operated a successful Stihl Outdoor Power Equipment retail business for the next 13 years and learned the value of happy customers, repeat business, and word of mouth. do business.
During the time that he owned his retail business, Randy just couldn’t stay out of the woods (it’s in his blood). During this time he had friends, family, and customers ask him to help with their timberland so he purchased a skid tractor and started cutting trees again. He developed relationships with timber buyers and thus started his path to where he is today.
Ten years ago, Randy and Cindy sold their Stihl retail business and invested in more logging equipment. Randy bought timber, mostly from landowners that contacted him, and logged it. Soon, their son worked another logging job and their daughter and son-in-law joined the business. With the relationships he has developed with mills in Arkansas and the reputation for honest, quality workmanship, he built a strong business in the timber management industry.
